Born and raised in Hamilton, Justin Faulknor has been playing and composing ever since he first picked up a guitar at the age of 14. As a teenager, he discovered the musicians that would shape his sound, including The Beatles, James Taylor, Tom Petty, and Paul Simon. Together with his cousin, Matt Faulknor, he formed a band in high school called ‘The Doorjammers’ and went on to graduate in English from McMaster University.
His first album, ‘line forms here’ was well received in 2008, with the song ‘Winter Blues’ making it to the final four of CBC’s regional Searchlight music contest in 2014. He followed this with the impressive ‘Staring at the Sun’ in 2019.
His latest album, ‘Far From Home’, features talented session musicians from around the world, and draws on Justin’s broad influences to showcase his mastery of songwriting, musicianship and production.
