Justin Faulknor is a Canadian singer-songwriter and poet whose nostalgic style draws inspiration from the timeless talents of classic rock, blues and folk. Like Bob Dylan, he moves between styles with artistry and a masterful understanding of songwriting.
His poetic honesty and insightful wit lend a universality to his lyrics. From heart-achingly gentle ballads to energetic rock tunes, there is a quality to his music that is uniquely and recognizably his.
Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Justin Faulknor has been playing and composing ever since he first picked up a guitar at the age of 14. As a teenager, he discovered the musicians that would shape his sound, including James Taylor, Yusuf/Cat Stevens, The Beatles and Paul Simon. He co-founded a band in high school called ‘The Doorjammers’ and went on to graduate in English from McMaster University.
He has released two albums. The first, ‘line forms here’ was well received, with the song ‘Winter Blues’ making it to the final four of CBC’s regional Searchlight music contest in 2014. He followed this with his second album ‘Staring at the Sun’. His latest album, ‘Far From Home’ features the single, ‘Girl Like You‘ with a fantastic accompanying music video.
